Per ASUS, this motherboard only supports 2 ranks of DDR400 memory. If more than one dual rank DIMM is installed, the memory will be limited to 333MHz and the 3rd socket is disabled. Refer to motherboard manual for possible configurations. This motherboard supports both ECC (X72) and non-ECC (X64) memory. When mixing ECC and non-ECC modules, the system will not perform the ECC function.
